Ground sensors and Relay Node

Nedap

A perfect of example of ultimate cooperation between a client and Pezy Group is the Nedap case.

Nedap Identification Systems is a leading specialist is vehicle detection systems. In the development of two different types of ground sensors for identification of passenger cars Nedap was confronted with very challanging requirements regarding lifetime and water ingress.

CE Masters investigated the situation on-site at Nedap. Taking the available production techniques and knowledge of Nedap into consideration, various proposals have been brought forward.

In order to meet the requirements in even the most extreme situations, further strengthening of the construction was needed. Pezy Group supplied FEM analysis to optimize the load capacity and lifetime.

In order to analyse the chance on ‘stress crack’ at the injection point, Pezy proposed to perform an aging test. With this test the possible issues surfaced in a short time. Injection moulding specialists of Pezy Group have supplied Mold Flow simulations and an overal recommendation for the injection molding conditions. Nedap's own mold maker has modified the molds. By using the recommended parameters in the molding process, all issues were solved.

Subsequently CE Masters made an important contribution to the development of the Relay Node, that comes with these sensors. The Relay Node is a wireless communication unit which is used to forward messages from the ground sensors to a 'data collector'. The new Relay Node has a much bigger range than its predecessors.

Both the ground sensors and the Relay Node are in production. They are sold and used in large numbers.
